INTRODUCTION
This paper is devoted to the importance of the usage of conditionals in English Language in the television series "Friends".
The relevance of this topic stems from the importance of studying the grammatical structure of the English language, particularly in terms of its actual functioning in colloquial speech. Conditional sentences are an integral part of English grammar, allowing us to express hypotheses, assumptions, and conditions, significantly enriching the speaker"s speech. Studying the specific usage of conditional constructions allows for a deeper understanding of the specifics of linguistic communication, develops oral comprehension skills, and improves language proficiency.

CHAPTER 1. FUNCTIONS AND GRAMMAR FEATURES OF CONDITIONALS
1.1 Theoretical aspects of studying conditionals in modern English language
The study of theoretical approaches to conditional sentences occupies an important place in linguistics, psychology, and foreign language teaching methodology. Conditional sentences belong to one of the most complex and significant grammatical phenomena, playing a key role in shaping the semantic content of utterances and conveying cognitive processes of the speaker. The purpose of this work is to analyze existing approaches to researching conditional sentences, identify features of their classification, and methods of interpretation.
One of the first researchers who addressed the theory of conditional sentences was philosopher David Hume, who formulated the idea of counterfactual assertion linking condition and consequence. According to Hume, a statement of the type "if A were B, then C would be D" implies a connection based on observed experience, but event A does not necessarily precede event C. Hume"s concept became a starting point for further research into conditional statements, highlighting two key characteristics: the presence of conditioning and the impossibility of directly confirming the truthfulness of counterfactual assertions [4].
